JACKSONVILLE, FL- Joshua Michael “Josh” Moore, 27, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
He was born on April 29, 1994 in High Point, the son of Amy McCormick Moore. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School, Bishop McGuinness High School, and St Thomas More High School before moving to Hawaii. After High School, he joined the Coast Guard in 2014, and served his country honorably for 4 years. In 2018, he was accepted into the Professional Pilot Technology Program at Florida State College at Jacksonville, and graduated in 2020 with his Associates Degree. He was currently employed with Florida Flyers Flight Academy in St. Augustine, where he served as a Flight instructor. He loved his job, instructing and mentoring students every day. Josh’s other passion was surfing, from the NC to Florida, he loved the physical exertion of it, to the challenge of it. He felt at home in the ocean, having served in the Coast Guard, and surfing was a huge part of who he was. He loved his Lord, his family and his friends and will be dearly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Amy McCormick Moore; his maternal grandparents; Doug and Nancy Smith and his uncles, Scott McCormick, Chris Smith and Chad Smith.
A service to celebrate Josh’s life will be announced at a later date.
Memorials in Josh’s memory may be made to Community Bible Church, 4125 Johnson Street, High Point, NC 27262.
