On Wednesday March 7, 2018, Joyce Roach went home to be with her Savior and her Lord.
Joyce was born September 10, 1942 in Kannapolis. She was the daughter of the late Bruce K. and Gradie M. Reid. Joyce graduated from AL Brown High School in Kannapolis and had a BA degree. Later, she was employed by Andco Industries in Greensboro as an Accounts Receivables Manager. Joyce had a great love and compassion for helping others. She was a pre-school choir teacher at church and attended numerous bible studies. As a well-kept lady, her passion was shopping for the latest clothing styles, jewelry, perfumes, etc. She and her husband traveled the world with great pleasure, including European trips and cruises. Her dream was her beach home in Emerald Isle, which she loved to decorate. Her bright smile and wonderful attitude will be missed my many of her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard E. Roach; daughter, Kim C. Douglas (Paul) of High Point; grandson, Zachary C. Douglas; step-daughter, Ashley Rodden of High Point; and step-grandson, Noah Rodden. Also surviving is her sister, Peggy Harrington (Norman) of Kannapolis; one nephew, Brent Harrington (Emily) and one niece, Paige Gentry (Clint).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Jamestown United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Watford and Rev. Jay Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1803 Westchester Dr., High Point, N.C. 27262.
