Joyce Dixon Royal

Joyce Dixon Royal, 84, entered into eternal rest on Monday September 28, 2020. 

She was born on March 15, 1936 in Randolph County to the late Charles and Bessie Joyce Dixon.  She was a resident of that area all her life and lifelong member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting. 

She worked for Alderman Studios for 30+ years in the retouching department.  Joyce was a remarkable woman with many talents.  She will be most remembered as an artist who loved painting, baking, crafting and spending time with family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Royal; her sister, Elizabeth Welborn and her brother, Charles L. Dixon, Jr. 

She leaves to cherish her memory; her sister Judy Jones of High Point; her step-daughters Vicki Gillenwater and Dana Holland; her brother in law Max Welborn; sister in law Gloria Dixon. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Janice Welborn-Davis, Karen Walton, Max Welborn, Jr., Mark Welborn, Joe Welborn, Kenny Jones, Sherry Jones, Charles “Lee” Dixon III and Jamie Dixon; her great nieces and nephews, Michael Trexler, Greg Trexler, Jordan Jones, Emily Jones, Jarod Walton, Leshia Griffith, Jacob Welborn, Justin Welborn, “Tripp” Gerald Roybal III, Ashley Jones, Donald “Phillip” Dixon, Tory Dixon and Lindsey Dixon; her great-great nieces and nephews, Faith Trexler, Austin Trexler, Darius Walton, Lydia Walton, Willow Griffith and Wiley Griffith.

A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held on Thursday afternoon, October 1^st at 3 o’clock.  This graveside service will be held at Cedar Square Friends Meeting Cemetery with Reverend Michael Fulp officiating.  Her family will greet friends following the service.
