TRINITY – Juanita “Tootsie” Deaton McNeill, 86, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at Graybrier Nursing Center.
She was born June 22, 1933, in Trinity and was the daughter of the late Mamon Herman and Annie Sue Yates Deaton. After attending business college, she had a long career as a financial secretary for various businesses in the High Point area. She was a faithful and active member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, was a former member of the church choir and had taught Sunday school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Lawrence W. McNeill; sisters, Pauline Brown, Mary Flippen and Barbara Frye; brother, Herman Deaton; and hers sons loving wife of 33 years, Barbara Fuller McNeill.
Tootsie is survived by her son, Randy McNeill and fiancée, Sherry Allen, of Trinity; sister, Connie Deaton Neeley of Archdale; granddaughters, Cynthia Liggon and her husband, Robin, of Henderson and Robin Ann Hawthorne and her husband, Drayton, of Boiling Springs Lake, NC; grandson, T.J. Moseley and his family of Burlington; four great-grandchildren, Amber Starks and husband, Matt, Christopher Liggon, David Hawthorne and wife, Betsy, and Donny Hawthorne; and two great-great-granddaughters, Grace McNeill Starks and Katie Hawthorne.
Funeral service celebrating Tootsie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2019, at Fairview United Methodist Church, 6073 Fairview Church Road, Trinity, with Rev. Willie Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday..
