TRINITY-Judy H. Peele, 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 24th, 2018.

She was born on November 16, 1941 in Randolph County, to the late John Byron and Clara Fields Hill, and had been a resident of this area all of her life. She worked for the City of High Point and retired after many years of service as an Administrative Assistant to the City Attorney. During her time with the city, she was the recipient of the “Key” to the City of High Point and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association of Archdale, formerly serving as president. Judy was a member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting, where she served as Treasurer for many years. She attended Thomasville Friends Church, where she served in various capacities. She enjoyed working in her church and her dogs, Bailey and Bentley. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed.  In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her brothers, Harrison Hill, J.B. Hill, Jr., and Bill Hill; her step mother, Nancy Lackey Hill; a step brother, Roger Lackey and a step sister, Susan Gray.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James C. Peele; her children, Kelly Smith and husband, Daniel, and Scott Peele; her sisters, Doris Rogers and husband, Rodney, Darleen Spaugh, Mary Jackson, and Nellie Auman and husband, Bob; her brother, Tom Hill and wife Sandra; her step brother, David Lackey; her step sisters, Kay Winfrey and Fay Trotter; her grandchildren, Emily Happel and husband, Brett, and Hayden Smith; her great grandchildren, Tanner and Paxton; several nieces and nephews, and her canine companions, Bailey and Bentley.

A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on Monday, May 28th, at 11 am in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Ben Hurley and Reverend Dr. Jay Lambeth officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Square Friends Meeting Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, May 27th, from 4 until 6 pm, at the funeral home.
