Karina Djaniants passed away unexpectedly on May 11th, 2019. Our mother was a force of a woman, the life of a party and the heart and soul of our family. Her family, husband, four children and granddaughter, were everything she lived for. She dedicated her life to loving and providing for us in the best way possible. We believe that everyone wins a lottery in life and our amazing mother was that prize for us.
Karina Djaniants was born on July 22, 1952 in Baku, USSR, to Armenian parents, Yeghishe and Anaid Kagramanov. She had an older brother, Mikhail Kagramanov, whom she loved dearly. Karina earned a degree in classical piano, and a bachelor’s degree in production design. For 16 years she worked as a head fashion designer for a handbag production house in Baku. In 1988, Karina, her husband and three daughters fled from Baku to Armenia as refugees. Through the face of the war, our mother worked tirelessly to ease the burden of our new hardship. She made every day special, always looking for positive outcome in any situations. Her wisdom and courage pushed our family to persevere and look toward a brighter future. Karina and her family immigrated to High Point, NC in 1992 and she gave birth to her fourth child David soon after arriving in America. For 16 years she worked as a sales associate at Belk’s at Oak Hollow Mall and later at the Palladium Mall. Karina loved fashion and many of her customers became her close friends. She retired in 2017 to spend more time with her husband, children and granddaughter.
Our mother was an amazing cook and a gracious host; she loved throwing dinner parties and entertaining her guests on the piano. She was the kind of a woman whose energy and liveliness elevated the atmosphere in any setting. She loved the theater, ballet, opera and live music. The incredible and deep love she had for her family continuous to radiate in our hearts. Karina is survived by her husband Mikhail, her four children, Lilly, Anush, Inna, David, and her granddaughter Charlotte Simonian.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor Samuel Rith-Najarian. The family will greet friends with a reception following the service in the Life Tribute Center at the funeral home.
