ARCHDALE- Kelly Brown, Jr., 59, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
He was born on July 8, 1960 in Cocke County, TN, son of the late Kelly and Eunive Valentine Brown. Throughout Cocke and Sevierville County he was better known as just "Jr.". A resident of this area the latter majority of his life, he owned and operated Custom Welding & Automotive, a car restoration business; specializing in restoration of old VW Buses. His business had been featured on “Roy’s Folks” and he became known as "Metal Wizard". Later shortened to "Metwiz". He also worked at O'Reilly auto parts, where he helped numerous family and friends as well as made new friends he cared for dearly. Kelly enjoyed working on and making things for family. He also enjoyed traveling to old car shows; especially to Tennessee, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Farmington Dragway, where he loved to camp and spend time with his friends. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend that will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a sister, Ginger Ashe.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter, Kelly I. Brown and her fiancé, B.J. Parsons, his sister, Marilyn Knight, sister in law, Debra Lackey, beloved nephew, his wife and their lovely son, Robert, Audrey, and Logan Lackey, his only grand-daughter, Madison Frye, and nieces Sandra Conard Manes, Selina Morris, and Tina Ashe DuTart.
He will be taken home to Cosby, TN to be placed with his parents. No services are planned at this time.
