Mr. Kenneth (Ken) Ray Cook, 74, resident of High Point, died July 4, 2018 at his home.
Ken was born August 12, 1943 in Guilford County, a son to the late Charles V. Cook Sr. and Mary Fountain Cook. A resident of this area all his life, he attended High Point College and worked in management at Acme Sample. He loved working in his yard, listening to music and driving different cars. Surviving is his wife for 42 years, the former Carolyn F. Surrett of the residence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles V. Cook Jr.; two dogs, Hershey and Tuffi; and two cats, Bootsie and Sidney.
Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Peggy Cook of High Point, Rachel Caulder of High Point and Deborah Ware and husband Robert of Barbeau, MI; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Surrett of High Point and Rev. David Surrett and wife Becky of Greensboro; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Sadie Mae.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. David Surrett officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
