Mr. Lemuel David Dildine, 89, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his residence.
Born December 26, 1928, in Sparta, TN, David was the son of the late James Floyd and Dillian Elizabeth Henley Dilldine. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frankie Mae Livengood Dildine; great grandson, Joseph Charles Edwards; and siblings, Johnny Dilldine, Douglas Dilldine and Bill Dilldine, and Louise Owens. David was a self employed Scrap Metal Recycler and was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and liked to travel.
He is survived by two sons, David (Brenda) Dildine and Jimmy Dildine; three daughters, Lynn Edwards, Donna Fountain, and Patricia (Gary) Dean; eight grandchildren, Neil Edwards, Jr. Edwards, Ricky Dildine, Samantha Garner, Kimberly Padilla, Amy Bragg, Matthew Dildine and Elizabeth Norman; five great grandchildren, Anjelena, Juliana, Michael, Mason and Cayden; and two sisters,Betty Sue Johnson and Dorothy Henley Johnson.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29th, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Interment with military honors will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
