Linda (Sykes) Cooper Rickard

ARCHDALE – Linda Sykes Cooper Rickard, 78, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her residence.

She was born December 23, 1942 in High Point and was the daughter of the late Wade and Mabel Johnson Sykes. Linda was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She retired from Levolor Window Fashion, Inc. in High Point.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Cooper and Doug Rickard.

Linda is survived by her children, Kenny Cooper (Jennifer) of Bald Head Island and Kelly King of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Dylan King (Kayla), Ty Cooper, Cassie Cooper and Jordan King; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Lax (Tracy) of Archdale, Joan Setliff (Mike) and Renee Lowe (Billy) both of Trinity; four brothers, Danny Sykes (Brenda) and Mike Sykes (Tammy) both of Archdale, Larry Sykes (Vickie) of Trinity and Ricky Sykes of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Mary Rickard of Wllburg; lifelong friend, Teenia Browning of Archdale; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews..

A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Rodney Byrd officiating.

The family will speak to friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
