Linda Gale (Beeson) Silva

Mrs. Linda Gale Beeson Silva, 74, passed away at her home August 8, 2019. Linda was born in Davidson County to the late Ira Earl and Iris Larue Matthews Beeson on June 2nd, 1945.  She graduated from East Davidson High School and attended East Carolina University.

Linda began her career in ladies retail clothing but found her true calling in restaurant management.  She was an avid animal lover and an inquisitive soul who could, and often did, strike up a meaningful conversation with just about anyone.  Her favorite place on earth was the NC coast - she and her young daughter Leah lived in Southport, NC for several years in the late 1970’s.  She will always be remembered looking out over the ocean, happy, content and grateful.

Linda was a devoted mother and wife and a faithful member of the Church at High Point.  Linda married Donald R. Williams of Montgomery County, NC in 1967 and they had one daughter Leah Britt Williams.  Though they divorced in 1978 the two remained close until Donald passed away in 1998.

Working at the Old Plank Road Depot in 1978 Linda met her future husband, Pedro Silva and they married in 1981.  Linda became an active supporter of the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival and became an integral part of Pedro’s success at NCSF.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Silva; five brothers, Ira, Joe, Jack, Wade, and Charlie Beeson; and one brother–in-law, Bill Lewallen.

She is survived by her daughter, Leah Ryan of Takoma Park MD, her husband Marc, granddaughter Stella Grace Ryan (13) and grandson Miles Williams Ryan (10).  She is also survived by her sister, Sara “Mimi” Lewallen of Trinity who raised Linda and her 5 brothers after their mother passed at a very young age.  Mimi was her best friend and constant supporter; always more of a mother than sister to Linda.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday September 14, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service - High Point Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
