Lissie (Rich) Greenway

Lissie Rich Greenway, 93, passed away on October 6, 2018 at Cross Road Retirement Center, Alzheimer’s Unit in Asheboro, N.C.

Lissie was born June 26, 1925 to Joseph Charles Rich and Ibby Celeste Hutchens Rich.  She was preceded in death by husband, Everett Seldon Greenway and son, Dr. David Everette Greenway.  Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Kinley, Gloria Jennings (Eddie) and Sharon Irving (Glen); her son, Darrell Greenway (Sharon), thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Lissie was a homemaker and later as the children grew older, was a sales representative for 20 plus years at Stanley Home Products.  She loved the church and her trust in Jesus Christ never wavered.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cross Road Retirement Center Inc., 1302 Old Cox Rd. Asheboro, N.C., 27205 or to Community Hospice, 533 S. Fayetteville St. Asheboro, N.C., 27205.
