Lori Ann Chmelovski, 61, of High Point, NC passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
Born on March 2, 1960 in Steubenville, Ohio, and raised in Follansbee, WV, Lori is the daughter of Stanley F. Chmelovski and Nancy and Perry West. She is preceded in death by her father Stanley and her step-father Perry.
She graduated from Madonna High School in Weirton, WV and attended Duquesne University. Lori’s career in the insurance industry spanned many decades at both Prudential and Aetna. For many years, she served as a judge in the Guilford County election process.
Lori spent many years living in Pittsburgh, PA and often referred to it as “home” because of her fondness for the city. She was an avid sports fan of all Pittsburgh teams, but especially loved the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Lori spent much of her life caring for others through many volunteering activities, serving at medical clinics, suicide hotlines, with the American Red Cross, and with the Special Olympics.
Her nieces and nephews were the light of Lori’s life and she often shared stories of their lives with many of her friends and co-workers.
Lori is survived by her mother, Nancy (Howerter) West; five siblings, Linda (Randy) Gasaway of Follansbee, WV, Perry Todd (Laurie) West of Floyd, VA, Kris (Kevin) Spitzform of Chapin, SC, Kellie (Mike) Conklin of Scott Depot, WV, and Matt (Melissa) Chmelovski of Vicksburg, MI; four nieces Miranda (Jesse) Street, Morgan (Adam) Licht, Madelyn Spitzform, and Emma West; five nephews, Steven (Sara) Spitzform, Chase Conklin, Ethan West, Carson West, and Mitchell Chmelovski, two great-nieces Kinsey Street and Emery Licht, and great-nephew, Liam Street.
Honoring Lori’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
