Lorraine Morton Johnson

ARCHDALE-Lorraine Morton Johnson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 15, 2019.

She was born in Randolph County to the late Benjamin and Louise Hill Morton and she attended Hope 4 U Ministries. Lorraine enjoyed gospel music, and watching Andrew Womack and Ron Morrison on Sunday morning. She also enjoyed watching westerns and traveling; especially to Kentucky, and the National Quartet Convention. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were a daughter, Iris Prevo; 2 brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years; Willis Johnson; her daughters, Olga Diane Staggs (Michael), and Sandra Louise Price; her brother, Travis Morton (Ronda); her sister, Shelba Jean Bass; 8 grandchildren, DeLana Maness Dennis, Tona Gordon, Dona Birchfield, Michael Staggs, Jr., Thomas Wayne Rhue, Richard Livingston, Terry Mansell, Ganise Cochran; 16 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Lorraine’s life will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 20, at 2 o’clock, from the graveside in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Joe Horrell officiating. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, March 19, from 6 until 8 o’clock, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
