TRINITY – Louise Baird Jernigan, 76, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at GrayBrier Nursing Center.
She was born April 22, 1942, in Elk Valley, TN and was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Ella Baird. She was a faithful and devoted homemaker and assisted her husband in his construction business, J & J Construction. She had previously attended Cloverdale Church of the Living God and Full Armor Christian Center until her health declined. She was an expert seamstress and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Baird.
Louise is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Y. Jernigan, whom she married on December 23, 1958; three children, Debra Smith and her husband, Gregg, of Thomasville, Terry Jernigan of Trinity, and Sandra Cress and her husband, Eddie, of Archdale; six grandchildren, Erin Crews and her husband, Chip of Trinity, Tessa Smith of Thomasville, Leea Crays and her husband, Jonathan of High Point, Molly Jernigan of Archdale, Ashley Provence of Pinehurst, and Kaylan Provence of Randleman; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Ingram and her husband, Clinton; one brother, Austin Baird and his wife, Linda, both of Trinity; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Louise’s life will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Randy Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the funeral home.
