Tribute

Lucas "Luke" Glen Scheid, 44, of High Point, passed away, Friday morning, March 17, 2023, at this home.

Born, August 10th 1978, in Lansing, Michigan to the beautiful Scheid family.

Luke grew up in Mason, Michigan with his loving grandparents Judi and Ron.  Luke idolized his grandpa Ron and the two can be remembered enjoying A&W hamburgers together. Embraced in the love and affection of his aunt Cissy, enshrouded with the humor and armor of his uncle Rex and guided by the wisdom and courage of his aunt Lynn.  In his youth, Luke met lifelong friend, Craig Phillips who shared the love of cars, the two, along with friend Dan Holland had countless adventures and made precious memories as they navigated through their school years and into their adulthood where they continued to watch over each other.

At age 20, Luke began his career as a tattoo artist, which he continued to master throughout his life. In 2007, Luke and his girlfriend Jen moved to High Point, North Carolina and were soon after, blessed with two beautiful daughters Evelyn and Alice. Of all the artwork he ever bestowed upon the world, his daughters were his greatest masterpiece. He was very proud of them. His humor and determined personality will live on with his youngest daughter Alice and his unparalleled artistic ability and fierce loving spirit will live on with his oldest daughter Evelyn. Luke loved his family and friends with his entire heart and soul. He was a loving and devoted father.

Throughout his life, Luke immersed himself in all mediums of the art world. Along with tattooing, he enjoyed painting and sculpture, woodworking, digital art and design printing. When he wasn’t working on his art, he was busy learning and developing all things business, and was the head of many ventures over the years.

Surviving, are his wife of 20 years, Jennifer of the home; daughters, Evelyn and Alice of the home; lifelong best friend, Craig (Shannon) Phillips; grandmother, Judi Scheid of Mason, Michigan; aunts, Cissy (Chris) Schroeder of Mason, Michigan, Lynn Grove of Mason, Michigan; uncle, Rex Scheid of Mason, Michigan; brothers, James (Pam) Wickman of Heartland, Michigan, Ronnie Scheid of Mason, Michigan, Nick; and sister, Sarah; numerous cousins, and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Scheid of Mason, Michigan; and father Joseph Scheid of Mason, Michigan.

The world had to let go of a phenomenal artist, amazing friend, and loving father; the other half of my broken hearts.

Lucas was loved and will be forever missed.
