Mabel Braga Resendes

ASHEBORO-Mabel Braga Resendes, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

She was born on January 1, 1947 in Santa Maria, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel and Ana Freitas Braga. A resident of this area since 2018, she was a homemaker and she embraced the idea of being at home and raising her children. She enjoyed cooking for them and she always ensured that they were safe, healthy and happy. Mabel’s greatest happiness and joy was the company of her family. She will be remembered as an exceptional wife and mother who cared deeply for her family and her friends. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was a son, Rui Resendes.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 57 years, Jose Resendes; her children, Vasco Resendes, Helder Resendes, Fabio Resendes, Anna Pegram and her husband, Adam, Joanna Resendes and Michael Resendes; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of siblings,nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Mabel’s life will be held on Thursday, September 29, at 10:00 a.m., from the graveside at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Morris Little officiating. Her family will greet friends following the service.
