HIGH POINT-Magdalene Dunbar Manring, age 89, formerly of Trinity, NC left this earth to join her Lord and loved ones in Heaven on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Mrs. Manring was born on October 26, 1930 in Mount Airy, NC to Walter Oscar and Annie Collins Dunbar. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1948 and married James Edward Manring on September 10, 1950.
Mrs. Manring had a passion for her family. She made homemaking her career and excelled as a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, gardening and reading. Graciousness and hospitality were a part of her everyday life and she was truly a beautiful lady who was well loved by all who knew her. She was a believer and servant of Christ and a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in High Point where she regularly attended and volunteered until her health no longer allowed it.
Mrs. Manring is survived by her children, Jim Manring of Waynesville, NC, Wayne Manring and wife Tami of Trinity, NC , Debbie Brown and husband Ronnie of Stuart, VA and Mike Manring and wife Debra of Randleman, NC. Mrs. Manring also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Jon Manring, Daniel Manring, Rebecca Manring, Brad Manring, Haley Taylor, Sara Bingham, Allison Taylor, Anna Beth Gatewood and Aaron Brown and eight great grandchildren, Grace, Emma, Ava, Collins, Jake, Maverick, Claire and Lennon. Mrs. Manring was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband and her brothers Herman Dunbar, James Dunbar, Ronnie Dunbar, and Gilmer Dunbar and her sisters, Margaret Cox, Geraldine Clodfelter, JoAnn Grant and Veradine Dunbar.
There will be no formal visitation, but friends may pay their respects from 3:00 pm until 5 pm, on Wednesday, March 25, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. A private graveside service will be held. A celebration of Magdalene’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
