Dr. Manharpreet “Mani” Singh Sekhon, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
Mani was born in India on July 27, 1952 to the late Gurinder Singh Sekhon and Amarjit Kaur Locham Sekhon. He attended and graduated from the Medical College of Patiala, and immigrated to Detroit, Michigan in 1975, where he met and married his best friend, Linda Jean Ramsden, in 1985.
The couple had two children – Michael (1987) and Andrew (1988) – and settled outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1988. While he enjoyed a long career in internal medicine, his wife and children remained his greatest joy to the day he died. His friends and relatives would describe him as a quiet, compassionate, intelligent man who would give everything for his loved ones.
He enjoyed his final years in the company of the woman he loved and cherished. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him; he is survived by his wife, Dr. Linda Sekhon; his sons Michael (Ellyn) and Andrew (Kelly); his grandson Adam; his brother Preeti (Lovi); his mother and father in-law William and Doris Ramsden; his dog Murphy; and many other beloved family members.
