Margaret Louise McLendon Bartley, age 94, widow of the late Charles W. Bartley, Jr., passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021.
Born in Fulton County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Walter Alexander McLendon and Sara Louise Webster McLendon. Formerly of Bluefield, WV, Mrs. Bartley was a graduate of Center College in Danville, KY. She was a home maker and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bluefield, WV for over 50 years and was a member of Providence Wesleyan Church in High Point. Mrs. Bartley was an avid golfer, loved her garden, and enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Bartley is survived by two sons, Mike Bartley (Wendy) and Charles W. Bartley, III; four grandchildren, Glenn Michael Bartley, Tucker Bartley, Graham Bartley, and Bryson Bartley; three great grandchildren, Timothy Hager, Jaylen Hager, and Katie Hager; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Nat Vissman; a son-in-law, William Wallace; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sara Bartley Wallace; two grandchildren, Kerri Bartley Hager and Bill Wallace, Jr.; and a sister, Betty Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery.
