Mrs. Margaret Jessie Payne White, 90, of High Point, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019.
Born October 26, 1928, in High Point, Margaret was the daughter of the late William McKinley Payne, Sr., and Jessie Bundy Payne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edwin Lee White, and her brother, William McKinley Payne, Jr.
Margaret grew up in High Point, and graduated from High Point Central High School and High Point College. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Hays Bible Class. She served in several capacities within the church, including the Parsons Table during the Furniture Market, and starting the church’s Love Feast along with her husband, Eddie. Margaret and Eddie were also active volunteers in the community, and often helped with the Duke Power Retirees.
Margaret also poured herself into the lives of her family. She is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Bunce and husband, Bruce, of Greensboro, Martha Wall, of High Point, Ann McCurry and husband, Brett, of High Rock Lake, and Susan Huizenga and husband, David, of Denver, NC; five grandchildren, Meredith Williams, of Asheville, Lindsay Wall and Blake Wall, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Max McCurry and Molly McCurry, of High Rock Lake; one niece, Kathy Wuesste; and two nephews, Teddy Payne and Chip Payne.
Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7th, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, in High Point, officiated by Reverend Debra Swing. The family will receive friends in the Epworth Room following the service.
