Marilyn (Mimi) Lee Hinkle Stewart, 67, resident of 102 Mamie Ln., died March 12, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Stewart was born June 28, 1950 in Goldsboro, NC and has been a resident of Jamestown most of her life, moving there at the age of twelve. She also spent time in Florida working as a registered nurse with the Visiting Nurses Association in Winter Haven and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville. Mimi was an active member of The Journey Church, helping with the children’s program and also serving on Wednesday night. During these last few years, Journey was the focus and passion of her life.
Surviving is her husband of 48 years, Daniel (Danny) Stewart of the residence; daughter, Tracie Rowe and husband Andrew of High Point; son, Travis Stewart of Jamestown; sister, Carolyn Szarka of Jamestown; brother, Jack Hinkle of Archdale; five grandchildren, Kailynn, Annaliese, Jayde, Carringtyn and Merrilauren Rowe; and her special Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Scout. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Mahoney; her father, Gaston Hinkle Jr. and her brother, Terry Allen Hinkle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at The Journey Church with Rev. Alan Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church and other times at the residence. Memorials may be directed to The Journey Church c/o Kidz Journey, 1221 E.
