Marjorie Rita (Holland) Klem

Marjorie Rita Holland Klem, 91, of Greensboro, passed away at The Arboretum at Heritage Greens on April 14, 2019.

She was born in Rochester, NY, on August 10, 1927--an only child of the late William Delbert Holland and Sarah Emmaline Brennan Holland. She is predeceased by her parents and youngest daughter, Eileen Elizabeth.

Marge is survived by her husband, Paul Robert Klem of 67 years; daughters, Sarah Ann Justice (Ralph) of Pawleys Island, SC, and Marie Marjorie Klem Whiteheart of Jamestown; sons, Paul Edward Klem (Betty) of Jamestown and Patrick William Klem (Janet) of Conroe, TX; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She attended St. Genevieve-of-the-Pines Junior College in Asheville before attending and graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1950, where she was a member of the Carolina Playmakers. She also received two Masters Degrees from UNC-Greensboro in Education and Library Science. Mrs. Klem retired from the Guilford County School System where she was the librarian at Northwest Guilford Senior High School from 1967 to 1988. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since 1966 and a founding member of the Cedarwood Garden Club in Jamestown. She traveled around the world twice, was gifted in the art of storytelling, loved theatre, gardening, playing bridge, her collection of marionettes, and all things Irish.

The family especially wishes to thank Agnes, Terri, Emma, Lucretia, and the entire staff of The Arboretum at Heritage Greens.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Johnson Street in High Point. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Thomas P.Norris OSFS will officiate the service.
