HIGH POINT – Martha Fern Chatham Fields, 82, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro.
She was born July 24, 1937, in High Point and was the daughter of the late Henry Bliss and Mae Fern Adams Chatham. She was a retired bookkeeper and had worked with several retails stores in the area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McCandless and brothers, Homer Chatham, Joe Chatham, and Raymond Chatham.
Martha is survived by her son, Ronnie Fields and wife, Gloria, of Trinity; two granddaughters, Chassidy Hepler Fields and Kristina Fields Waller; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Madison and Hannah Hepler, Olivia and Landyn Waller; and two brothers, Grover Chatham and Irvan Chatham.
Funeral service celebrating Martha’s life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 30, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
