Marty Sechrest

High Point – Grady “Marty” Sechrest, 53, passed away August 8, 2017at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born in Guilford County, November 3, 1963 to Larry Dwight Sechrest and Fern Carter Sechrest Hazzard.

Marty was an avid University of Alabama football fan and was passionate about weightlifting and bodybuilding.  He enjoyed working and cooking in the restaurant business.   He attended church with his mother at Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Marty was preceded in death by Boots and Jettie Carter, maternal grandparents; Dwight and Sadie Sechrest, paternal grandparents.

In addition to his parents he is remembered by his son, George Sechrest of Winston-Salem; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Julia Sechrest of High Point and niece, Tori Sechrest.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church, 5812 Surrett Drive in Archdale.
