Mary Alice (Bowen) Jones

Greensboro – Mary Alice Bowen Jones, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

Mary was born in Merry Hill, NC on March 27, 1932 to the late Edward Worley Bowen and Pattie Cobb Bowen.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death in 2019 by her husband of 49 years, Leon Jones and six siblings.

Mary and Leon moved to Jamestown in 1958 and loved raising their family in this area.  Mary was devoted to family and loved outdoor activities such as, fishing, gardening and boating at High Rock Lake where they had a house on the lake.  She was a beautiful person loving to all who knew her.

She was a person of strong faith being raised as a Baptist.  Mary was hard working and loved her work at Heritage and Woodmark Originals where she worked for over 30 years. 

Mary is survived by her children, Larry Daniels of High Point, Marsha Norman of Greensboro; step-daughter, Kimberly Corn and husband, Billy of Hillsville Community; grandchildren, Natalie Johnson, Marshall Daniels, Jacob Daniels; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with two on the way.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service at 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  Friends may greet the family starting at 10:30 a.m. before the service.  Pastor Darryl Roberts will officiate and burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
