Mary Elizabeth (Riddle) Pearsall

Mary Pearsall, 71, died June 20, 2022 of pancreatic cancer at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  The younger of two daughters, Mary was born March 5, 1951 in Spruce Pine, North Carolina to Joe W. Riddle and Eunice R. Riddle, who predeceased her.

Mary was a 1969 graduate of Harris High School in Spruce Pine and completed her education at ASU in Boone, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications in 1974.  She later changed careers and became a personal care provider, working in a local seniors community until her retirement.

An avid music lover, Mary sang in various choral groups and church choirs for much of her life.  But her greatest joy was the precious time she shared with her only son while he was growing up.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jason Charles, and daughter-in-law, Shelli, of High Point; her sister, Virginia Hunt; brother-in-law, Charlie Hunt; nephew, William Hunt, and her uncle, Leo Riddle, all of Spruce Pine.

A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greensboro, 5603 Hilltop Road, Jamestown, NC on September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the UUCG Music Program or the American Cancer Society.
