Mrs. Melvie Gean Lamm, 68, of Thomasville, passed away Friday, April 06, 2018, at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Born December 10, 1949, in Alamance County, Melvie was the daughter of the late Melvin and Geneva Bowman Lamm. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by six siblings. Melvie was of the Baptist faith and had worked for Claude Gables. She loved flowers, especially roses, and enjoyed dancing.
Melvie is survived by three children, James Thurman Gerringer, Jr., Sonia Renee Gerringer, and Jeannie Taylor and husband, Robert; five grandchildren, Tristan, Angel, Dustin, Timmy, and Brittney; four great grandchildren, Maddison, Nathaniel, Skyler, and Desiree; four sisters, Eva Shealy, Margie Harvell and husband, J.W., Marie Lamm and Frances Tickle; and two brothers, Pete Lamm and wife, Helen, and Carl Lamm.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Cecil Cotrell. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
