Tribute

Meredith Scott Rawley passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019. Just the mention of her name brought a smile and her presence brought great joy. She was beautiful in person and spirit. She was creative, smart, and wise. Her kindness and laughter warmed friends and strangers. She was always willing to help and put others first. She has left a vast hole in the hearts and lives of family and friends, but her memory is all-pervasive. “Love is the bond that death cannot part.” John Mark Green

Born May 21, 1964, in High Point, North Carolina, Scotty was the beloved daughter of Shirley Yokley Rawley and David Albert Rawley, Jr. She attended Westchester Academy and graduated from High Point Central High School. She attended the University of Georgia and the Art Institute of Atlanta. She worked as a decorator in Atlanta, Georgia and West Palm Beach, Florida. She was married to Fritz Brown, and they have remained close friends.

Scotty is survived by her father of High Point; her mother and her husband, Dr. Earl Crow of Winston Salem; her brother, David Rawley, lll, Sherri Thompson and Reynaldo Wolfgang Rawley. Her family includes sisters, Susan Crow Sullivan, Joey Sullivan, Trey Sullivan, nephew, and Karen Crow Pooley, Jack Pooley; aunts, Lenda and Blenda Kates, of High Point, and Freda Yokley Ward; uncles, Joseph Rawley (Glenda), of Pennyburn, and John Kates (Missy Murdock), of Midlothian, VA; and cousins Evelyn Rawley Crews, Justin Rawley, Jody Rawley, Gail Ward Moore, and Rickey Ward O’Connor. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2019, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, in High Point, officiated by Mr. John Kates.
