Michael Ceiswich

John Michael Ceiswich, 76, of Sophia, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his home.

Born, July 28, 1946, Michael was raised in Manville, New Jersey by his parents, the late Michael Joseph Ceiswich and the late Susan Homyak Ceiswich. Michael graduated from High Point College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked for many years at Whites International as their finance and insurance manager. Michael was a faithful member of Archdale United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class; previously serving as the class teacher, president of the class. Michael was a Lay Leader and would preach when a church needed a fill in minister. He was a man with a great sense of humor and would always be the one to tell the corny jokes and make the puns. Michael loved collecting novelty neckties and according to his family, he has the best collection around. He was an avid Dodgers fan, and enjoyed watching their games. Most importantly, Michael was a family man, he was a proud father and grandfather; he was always finding ways to show his love for them.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Paul Ceiswich of Thomasville, Matthew Ceiswich of Mt. Airy, Michael Ceiswich, II (Andrea Simpson) of Conway, SC, Colin Ceiswich of Charlotte; daughter, Molly Wells (Chad) of Reidsville; three grandchildren; and beloved friend, Naomi Smith.

As Shel Silverstein once wrote, “There are no happy ending. Endings are the saddest part, so just give me a happy middle and a very happy start.”

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 20, 2023 at Archdale United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM prior to the service. A private committal will be held at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  

In keeping with Michael’s love and acceptance of all of God’s children, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials to be directed to the Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center, 121 North Greene Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
