HIGH POINT – Mildred Luellen Dills, 91, died Monday, October 19, 2020, at her residence.
She was born March 19, 1929, in Guilford County and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Fannie Johnson Dills. She worked most of her adult life as an accounts payable clerk for Woolworth's and Royal Development. Mildred was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had plans, at retirement, to becoming a missionary. Due to her aging parents, those plans changed, and she instead focused on all the people in her life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and had the voice of an angel. Mildred loved people, especially children, and to those who knew her, she was and will always be “Mimi.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Ray Dills and Wade Bartley Dills, and his wife, Julia; and sister, Elsie Mae Smith Light, and her husbands, Starlin Smith and Ernie Light.
Mildred is survived by her brother, Orville Wayne Dills and wife, Carol, of Randleman; sister-in-law, Dorothy Knight Dills of Wallburg; numerous nieces and nephews (too many to count) and cousins.
A private family committal service will be held at a later date at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
