Mildred Elizabeth (Harris) Kuplen

HIGH POINT— Mildred Elizabeth Kuplen, 95, of High Point NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2020.

Mildred was born on January 20, 1925, a daughter of the late James T and Grace E .Harris. She married the late Francis John Kuplen on October 14, 1943.  Mildred was a lifelong member of English Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school.  She especially enjoyed making cards with her computer to spread joy to all of her friends, relatives, and church members.

Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of 33 years, Francis J Kuplen in 1976; her grandson Jerry W Calhoun in 2017; siblings Doris Langston, Louise Dillon, George Harris, Carl Harris, and half-brother David Harris.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter Frances G. Whitlow, Greenville, SC; sons Gary A. Kuplen (Pam) Randleman, NC, and John E. Kuplen Tillery, NC; granddaughters Lynn Hollingsworth (Robert), Greer, SC, Brandy Allred (Chris) Asheboro, NC, Jessica Curry (Travis) Asheboro, NC, and Lori Kuplen, High Point, NC; sister Martha McQuire, Lexington NC; half-sister Nancy Harris, of NC; half-brothers Alan and Tom Harris; 14 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Cumby Family Funeral Service - High Point Chapel, Saturday May 16, 2020 at noon with Rev. Jim Summey officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Randolph County for the wonderful care, comfort and support they gave.  A special thank you to Mattie for the professional care she provided to the family throughout this time. “Your kind and caring compassion will never be forgotten.”
