Myrtle Hopkins Hinson

Mrs. Myrtle Lucille Hopkins Hinson, 82, resident of Archdale, died April 19, 2024 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Myrtle was born November 14, 1941 in Guilford County, a daughter to Houston and Laura Mae Andrews Hopkins.  She was a resident of this area all her life and attended New Life Baptist Church in High Point.  In earlier years, she enjoyed playing piano, and later in life, loved nothing more than taking care of her family.  In 1960, she married William “Bill” Hinson, who preceded her in death in 2009.  Her daughter, Amy Laura Hinson Kemp, and her sister, Bessie Stafford, also preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Donna Eads of Archdale; son, Eddie Hinson (Candice) of Archdale; sister, Glenda Williamson of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Joey Eads (Allison), Ashley Eads Fleming (A.J.), Jonathan Kemp (Michaela) and Natalie Hinson; two great grandchildren, Adam and Avery Fleming; son-in-law, Johnny Kemp; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Michael Mabe officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to New Life Baptist Church, 1100 E.
