TRINITY- Myrtle “Myrtie” Lou Steelman McGee Honeycutt, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
She was born on April 22, 1926 in Yadkin County and was the daughter of the late John Clete and Fannie Adams Steelman. She was a retired customer service representative with Duke Power and had a fantastic sense of humor. Myrtie was a longtime, active member of Glenola Baptist Church where she taught the Willing Workers Sunday School Class for many years. She was an avid student of the Bible and had a scripture verse for every occasion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert McGee and Frank Honeycutt; son, Robert “Bob” J. McGee; step-son, Brad Honeycutt; two sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Jean Davis McGee; grandsons, Robby McGee and Jerry McGee and wife, Jordan; a great-granddaughter, Avery Blair McGee; step-daughter-in-law, Jane Honeycutt; and other step-grandchildren.
A private family service to celebrate Myrtie’s life will be held at Glenola Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Steen and Pastor Joe Coltrane officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Glenola Baptist Church with a graveside service following in the church cemetery. Following the committal service, the family will also speak with friends in the church fellowship hall. Due to the current pandemic, friends are requested to wear masks and practice appropriate social distancing.
