GREENSBORO-Nan Coggins Lohr, 90, passed away on Monday, June 11th, 2018.
She was born on December 15th, 1927 in Randolph County, to the late Charlie and Laura Hinshaw Coggins. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a graduate of High Point College and worked for Terry Supply Co., retiring after 41 years of service. After retirement, she worked for 14 years in the preschool at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a member of Old Union United Methodist Church, and had attended Prospect United Methodist Church for many years. Nan’s hobbies were reading and baking. She kept up with golf and racing on TV, and enjoyed discussing the details with her sons-in-law. She was famous among family and friends for her delicious cakes. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother; grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, R.J. Lohr; her daughter, Alice Jennings, and her brothers, Wade and J.C. Coggins.
She is survived by her children, Jean Blasingame and her husband, Bob; Susan Wilson and her husband, Robert; Terry Lohr and his wife, Stacy; Joan Swift and her husband, Randy; her grandchildren, Bryce Lohr, Josua Lohr, Jared Lohr and his wife, Carolyn; Jessica Lothian and her husband, George; Bradley Swift and his wife, Deanna; Laura Fehlhafer and her husband, Tel; her great grandchildren, Abby Lothian, Silas Lohr and Graham Fehlhafer.
A service to celebrate Nan’s life will be held on Thursday afternoon, June 14th, at 4 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service of Archdale, with Reverend Susan Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
