Nancy (Dawkins) Cashatt

Mrs. Nancy Faith Dawkins Cashatt, 76, resident of High Point, died November 5, 2019 at High Point Medical Center after a year of declining health.

Nancy was born July 2, 1943 in Guilford County, a daughter to Rev. J.R. and Mabel Hussey Dawkins.  After moving with her family at a young age, she returned to this area shortly after graduating high school where she remained her entire life.  She worked and retired from both Sears and International Fabrics and also was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Lexington where she was pianist.  In 1963 she married Burton “Burt” Cashatt who survives of the residence.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Billy and Ken Dawkins.

Also surviving is her daughter, Laura Nester and husband Steven of Kernersville; a sister, Jeanne Misenheimer of Cary; and two grandchildren, Makayla and Justin Nester.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Vernon Smith officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to First Wesleyan Church of Lexington, 6019 Branch Dr. Kernersville, N.C. 27284.
