Naomi Ruth (Andrews) Welch

Naomi Ruth Andrews Welch, 95, of High Point went to her eternal home on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from Hospice Home at High Point.

Naomi was born in Guilford County on November 15, 1923 to the late P.V. Andrews and Maude Dodgin Andrews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Derrick Welch, Sr.; son, Michael Dale Welch and Perry L. “Buddy” Welch ; sisters, Thelma Shoemake and Rosa Lee Hill and daughter-in-law, Ann Welch.

Naomi was a loving mother and grandmother, who made her family the priority of her life.  Her faith was very important and lived out in her daily life. She was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in High Point.  During the years she was at Woodlawn she participated in the Ladies Bible Class, the Monday Prayer Group and the Hospitality Committee.

Those who will cherish Naomi’s memories are, sons; James Derrick Welch, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Joseph Esmond Welch of Asheboro; daughter-in-law Velma Welch of North Wilkesboro; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 3201 N. Main Street in High Point.  The Reverend Josh Gentle and Reverend Pat Ray will be officiating and burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.
