Noemí Peña Ríos was born in Manzanillo, Cuba on February 10, 1933. She passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Lovingly known as “Monina” to close family and friends; she was a generous woman that for more than 45 years as a Jehovah's Witness enjoyed sharing Bible promises and her faith in Jehovah God and his son Jesuschrist. She will be remembered for her kind smile and her love for her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Noemí worked as a pharmacist for many years in Puerto Rico.
Noemí is survived by her 2 daughters; Diana Saldaña and husband Rafael Saldaña of Miami, Florida and Betzaida Vélez and husband Edwin Vélez of High Point, NC. Her grandchildren: Rafael Antonio Saldaña, Francisco Saldaña and wife Adriana Saldaña, Manuel Saldaña and wife Elizabeth Saldaña, Eduardo Saldaña, Edwin Antonio Vélez and wife Maddie Vélez, Zaida Noemí Vélez and great-grandchildren Ariadna Saldaña y Gabriela Saldaña.
Also, her 2 sisters: Nuna Correa (90) and Niurka Peña (81) and 25 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the medical teams at High Point Regional Hospital and at Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving and compassionate care provided until she passed away.
The memorial will take place via Zoom Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
