Nona Bell (Myrick) Sink

Nona Myrick Sink. 90 of High Point passed away at Hospice Home at High Point Wednesday, February 6, 2019 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Nona was born November 6, 1928 in High Point, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Myrick and Nellie Mae Duggins Myrick.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Farrell L. Sink, Jr.; a son Danny R. Sink; a great-grandson, Zachary Rushing; four brothers, Grover Myrick, W.R. Myrick, Walter Myrick, Judson Myrick and two sisters, Alma Myrick Davis and Elva Myrick Lawing.

She was survived by two sons, Jerry W. Sink and wife, Carolyn, Michael L. Sink and fiancée, Sherri Barr; one daughter, Donna Sink Bombardier and husband, Brian; a daughter-in-law Frances Sink; four grandsons, Jerry W. Sink, Jr. and wife, Heather, Jonathan Sink and wife, Sue, Joshua Sink, Jason Bombardier and wife, Kristina; two granddaughters, Cindy Rushing Whitehead, Michelle Bombardier Bullock and husband, Landon; four great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters and a brother, Johnny Myrick and wife, Martha.

Nona enjoyed leading senior citizen exercise classes for 20 years at the Roy Culler Senior Center, as well as helping lead senior exercise classes at Oak View Recreation Center.  Earlier in her life she volunteered her time as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of Green Street Baptist Church for many years.  She enjoyed travelling and had a special love for people.  Much of her time was spent visiting with family and friends as well as helping others in need.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and friend.  She will truly be missed, but will always be remembered for her hugs and smiles. 

The family wishes to thank Hospice Home at High Point and her many friends and family for their loving care shown during the time of her illness.  Special thanks to Barbara Ward, Janet Sampson, Kathy Schuttler, Carolyn Stevens, Sara and James Stilley, Carolyn Hendrick, Ricki O’Connor and Denise Harvell.

The family will greet friends from 1:30 until 2:15pm on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Green Street Baptist Church 303 Rotary Drive in High Point, followed by a funeral service at 2:30pm.  The Reverend Frank Hensley will officiate and burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
