Norma Carleen (Brinson) Avant

TRINITY - Norma Carleen Brinson Avant, 68, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at High Point Regional Hospital.

She was born June 10, 1948, in Bainbridge, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Maurice and Ruth Frith Brinson.  She was devoted and faithful homemaker who enjoyed her flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Irvin L. “Pat” Avant, Jr., whom she married on September 15, 1968; a son, Jeffery L. Avant and his companion, Candi Gulledge, of Archdale; a grandson, Zavier Avant of Archdale; a sister, Lucretia Strange and her husband, Edward, of Wellington, AL; and a brother, Edwin Brinson and his wife, Sharon, of Fletcher, NC.

Funeral service celebrating Norma’s life will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Edward Strange and Pastor Lawrence Servan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Hayworth Cancer Center for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
