TRINITY – Oleta Bulla White, 96, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1924 in Randolph County and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Stella Parrish Bulla. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother grandmother and homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated White’s Texaco Service Station in Archdale for over twenty-five years. Oleta treasured her longtime friendships and took time to nurture and maintain those. She was a cradle-role member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for many years where she had served as Sunday school teacher of the Willa Carter Class and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking pies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Farlow White, whom she married on October 21, 1945; son-in-law, Austin Lookabill; and brother, Max Bulla.
Oleta is survived by her three daughters, Judy Reynolds of Ayden, NC, Wixie Lookabill of Salisbury and Amy Smith of Archdale; six grandchildren, Johnette Spear (Jeff), Shannon Lookabill (Mary), Derrick Reynolds (Katie), Nathan Smith, Brittany Smith and Heath Smith; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Burton of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Oleta’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Groome officiating. Burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.
