Pastor Tony C. Sparks

ARCHDALE-Pastor Tony C. Sparks, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

He was born on November 2, 1956 in Guilford County, a son of the late Bud Sparks, Sr., and Sarah Beasley Sparks. He retired from Larry Walker’s Body Shop, after 13 years of service. Tony enjoyed riding mountain bikes with his grandchildren, doing bike rides for charity, and camping at Holly Bluff campground, where he would conduct Sunday morning services. He also enjoyed going to the beach; especially Cherry Grove. He loved his Lord, his family and his friends and will be dearly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 plus years, Doris Floyd Sparks; his daughter, Kelly Owenby and her husband, Keith; his brother, Allen Sparks, Jr., and his wife, Kerry; his sister, Susan Farlow and her husband, Chris. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Haylee, Aiden, Gage, Kenedi, Jhett, Wyatt, and Averly; his step grandchildren, Nick Owenby and his wife, Tabitha and Lorian Owenby and his step great grandchildren, Madison and Colton.

A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral service, Archdale, with Pastor JR Hughart, Pastor Joe Horrell and Pastor Bob Glossenger, officiating. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home and other times at the residence..
