Patsy Anne (Smith) Skaggs

Patsy Smith Skaggs, 77, of Archdale passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at High Point Regional Hospital.

Patsy was born May 3, 1941 in Greensboro to the late George Henderson Smith, Jr. and Annie Elizabeth Ward Smith.  She was also preceded in death by Charles “Tony” Anthony Jennings, Jr., brother; Henry Smith, sisters; Betty Sue Brady, Ginger Walser and Joann Smith,

Patsy attended Archdale Friends Meetings and was an avid volunteer in her Sunday School class and other projects within the Friends Meeting.  She not only loved everyone in her Sunday School class but everyone who attended Archdale Friends Meeting as well.  She loved to send out cards to those who were sick or in need of encouragement.

For many years she worked as a full-charge bookkeeper for companies in and around the High Point-Archdale-Trinity area before retiring to enjoy working in her yard.  She loved planting and tending to her flowers.  She worked for many years as a florist at Nelson’s Flowers in High Point.

Patsy was instrumental in helping to get city water in the city of Archdale.

Those who are left to cherish her memories are  her husband of 25 years, Phil Skaggs, daughter; Cindy Fong and husband, Nathan of Texas, step-children; Beverly Welborn and husband, Merle of Trinity, Marika Krause and husband, Ken of Iowa, Tara Mayfield and husband, Jay of South Carolina, grandson; Dustin Cody of Texas, step-grandchildren; Meghann Skaggs of High Point, Dannielle Burton of High Point, Aaron Whitt of High Point, Nicholas Hicks of Greensboro, Makenna Lewis and husband, Sidney of Iowa, Dakhota Nicholson of Iowa, Kirsten Krause of Iowa, Kenny Krause of Iowa, McKayla of South Carolina, brother; George H. Smith III of High Point, sister; Judy King of Graham, nephews and nieces; Ward Smith, Adam Smith and wife, Bonnie, Natalie Smith, Kim Sowell and husband, Junior, Vicki Williams, Tim Walser, Geno Lauricia and wife, Cindy, George H. Smith IV and numerous others.  Her beloved dog and companion, 14 year old Pic-A-Poo, Elle will also dearly miss her.

A celebration of Patsy’s life will be 2:00 pm, on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Archdale Friends Meeting, 114 Trindale Road in Archdale with the Minister Rusty Parsons.  Entombment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.

The friend will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45 pm at Archdale Friends Meeting.
