TRINITY-Paula Gwen Dawes, 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
She was born on October 22, 1948 in Alleghany County, VA to the late Carl Sizemore and Violet Redman Rose. She retired as an RN from LeBauer Health Care in Greensboro, and was an active member of Whitmell Christian Church in Dry Fork, Virginia. Paula enjoyed spending time with her family, singing in church, shopping and watching Netflix . She loved her Lord, her church, her family and her friends and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was a sister, Donna Dressler.
Cherishing her memory, Paula is survived by; her husband of 50 years, Dr. Jim Dawes; her children, Tim Dawes and his companion, Jenny Hobbs, Tammy Patton and her husband, Michael, and Tonya Patton; her aunt, Adena Tingler ;her sisters, Jean Fisher, Sharon Leitch and her husband, Jack; her grandchildren; Amanda Dawes and her fiancé, Brandon Coleman, Ashley Dawes, Amber Dorsey and her Husband, Jon, Tyler Patton, Jacob Patton, Kaylee Patton, Aaron Patton and Kenzie Patton as well as her great grandsons, Bentley and Carter.
A service to celebrate Paula’s life will be held on Friday morning, July 10, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Brother Denny Dawes officiating. The committal; service will follow in Trinity Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Thursday evening, July 9, from 6 until 8 o’clock, at the funeral home.
