ARCHDALE – Pauline Baker Stewart, 91, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born July 29, 1927, in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late Nathan and LouBerta Lee Baker. She was a devoted homemaker and mother and retired from Roses Department Store after seventeen years of service. She was a person of strong faith and commitment to Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene T. Stewart, whom she married on September 15, 1944.
Pauline is survived by four children, Linda Neal (Jerry) of Trinity, James “Jake” Stewart of High Point, Danny Ray Stewart of Randleman, and Becky Davis (Jim) of Archdale; seven grandchildren, Dawn Tilley Blankenship (Ray), James Pendergrass (Olga), Ryan Stewart, Jerry Neal, Jr. (Cindy), Annette Osborne (Mark), Margaret Riddle (Calvin), and James Davis, Jr. (Lynne); eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lou, Joann, Glenda, and Cathy; and two brothers, Donald and Ricky.
Funeral service celebrating Pauline’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Poplar Ridge Meeting Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:45 to 10:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
