TRINITY – Peggy Ann Barnhart Collins, 73, died Monday, January 6, 2020, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1946, in High Point and was the daughter of the late Wade Preston and Lessie Powell Barnhart.
Peggy was a faithful and devoted Christian her entire life and was amember of Community Evangelical Methodist Church on Joe Moore Road where she served in many capacities. She was a gifted pianist and that God-given ability was utilized for the congregation for a myriad of years. She also served as the church’s treasurer and various boards for many, many years. Her health prevented her from attending church services regularly for the past year and a half, but she loved her church family. She often talked about getting well enough to go back to church and worship. Thankfully, we know she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, all her sickness and suffering is gone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Rains and Dot Wimmer.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 54 years, George Edward “Eddie” Collins, whom she married June 26, 1965; daughters, Barbara Arnold (Wes) of Thomasville and Pam Brinkley (Bryan) of Archdale; two grandchildren, Greg Lankford (Sydney) and Sydney Brinkley; great-granddaughter, Kinsey Ann Lankford; two sisters, Brenda Brown and Jackie Keck, both of Dalton, GA; and many nieces and nephews who were so special to Peggy.
