KERNERSVILLE – Peggy Redding Davis, 95, crossed peacefully into eternity on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Hospice Home at High Point with family by her side.
She was born March 26, 1929, in Guilford County and was the daughter of the late Joseph Harris and Esther Hussey Redding. She graduated from Allen Jay High School in 1946. She married Paul Davis, and they established their home on the Davis Farm. After a brief job at the Army Overseas Replacement Depot, she settled into a career with the State of North Carolina Employment Security Commission. Peggy was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed square dancing, card games with friends, traveling, eating with her Allen Jay Group and those sleepovers with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stanton Davis; two sisters, Betty Morgan and Barbara “Bobbie” Scruggs; and brother, Joseph Carroll Redding.
Peggy is survived by her son, Perry S. Davis (Joy) of High Point; two grandchildren, Madison Davis (Conner Champlin) of Kernersville and Jonathan Davis of High Point; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Deep River Friends Meeting Cemetery.
The family will speak with friends Tuesday at the cemetery following the service.
