Peggy (Welborn) Johnson

Mrs. Peggy Welborn Johnson, 76, of High Point, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

Born September 9, 1942, in Greer, SC, Peggy was the daughter of the late Wayne and Edith Gambrell Welborn. She was a member of Covenant Church United Methodist, and was retired from Guilford County Schools. Peggy was active in the High Point Regional Hospital Guild, the High Point Chapter of the Salvation Army, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.

Peggy is survived by two daughters, Dana Nooney and husband, John, and Kelly Ward and husband, Morry; five grandchildren, Morgan Hiatt, Jack Nooney, Emilee Nooney, Kaitlyn Ward and Bailey Ward; sister, Brenda Green; and a brother, Bernard Welborn.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22nd, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point, officiated by Rev. Darren Alexander and Rev. Michelle Foster-Beckerleg. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
