Brooklyn, NY – Mr. Percy Edward McGibboney, 66, passed away August 22, 2021. He was the fourth child and the third son of the late Mr. Elmer McGibboney and Ms. Rose Davis. He was born June 2, 1955, in Greensboro.
Percy graduated from Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, NY. He continued his education at Hunter College and went to trade school for plumbing. He was a master plumber for more than forty years. He was a mentor to many apprentices learning the trade. His reach crossed all of New York City: the superintendent of several multi-family buildings across all five boroughs; the foreman on hundreds of building sites; he had his hands on plumbing construction and repair from the basement to the roof. He continued to take on small jobs and loan tools to his neighbors until his last breath.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Rose, and his daughter, Patrice.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Infinite (Sephirah); daughters, Keyonda and Shandell; grandson, Izra; sister, Eartha (Steve); brothers, Sammy (Margarita) and Luther; many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 25, 2021, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
