Presley "Sonny" Jones

Lexington-Presley “Sonny” Jones, 63, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020.

He was born on September 5, 1956 in Halifax County, VA, to the late Presley and Ina Robertson Jones. He was employed with Everyready Battery of Asheboro for 40 years. Sonny enjoyed having a booth every weekend at the Highway 311 Flea market, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gladys Holley and Kathy McNeil.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years; Terri Ridge Jones; his children, Jeff Jones and his wife, Brenda, Kyle Jones and his wife, Kathleen, Carla Jones (Rusty Verville), and Trevin Jones (Chassity); his step daughter, Amanda Logan (Bryant Talbert); his sister, Patricia Lamb; his grandchildren, Preston, Scott, Dylan, Leah, Ayden, Grayson, Sofia, and Calynn and his great grandson, Ziggy.

A service to celebrate Sonny’s life will be held on Friday afternoon, July 3, at 3 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Mark Stanley officiating. His family will receive friends Friday afternoon, from 1:45 until 2:45, at the funeral home.
